Introduction

I have a graduate degree in Communication and a masters in Marketing. Before my first interview at Computer Futures, I didn’t have a clue about the Recruitment Sector, let alone the significance of my Human Resources skills on the business. To me, a recruiter was just someone with some basic psychological know how and a good CV Sender! I never considered the importance of building human relationships, soft skills, negotiation... It was exactly what I was looking for.

My role

For me, everything about this job revolves around respect. You need to respect your candidates, your clients, your colleagues. Respect everyone! Do this and you will get mainly good reactions and plenty of good opportunities.

But it will always be an unpredictable job. You can get bad news when you’re expecting good. And good when you’re expecting bad. Sometimes if it’s impossible to work with a client now, it will be possible tomorrow. Trust me – I’ve been doing this a while.

I don’t know exactly what my future plans are but I can’t imagine working for anyone else but SThree. There are a lot of opportunities available within the company. I could continue as a biller or maybe even switch to team management. It could be here, in a different country or even back in my lovely, home continent...Africa!

Training

I had LOTS of training when I first got the job and learnt more than I thought possible! I really want to thank all my colleagues for the time they took to teach me. They showed me lots of patience, professionalism and interest. As my career progresses I look forward to my training in management, team leading and business development. I’d say my favourite parts of the training were about respect and control. Those lessons have helped me a lot.

Working at SThree

The atmosphere here is fantastic. It’s a funny and sometimes crazy place to work. My team all get on great together. We joke with each other, tease each other and most of all – motivate each other. Since I’ve been here I’ve been on five Lunch Clubs and loads of team events. They were great, but my biggest achievement has definitely been remaining this year’s number one Belgium SThree Contract Consultant for New Deals. I just need to keep it up and I’ll be heading to Marbella!

I think SThree is a truly unique company in the world of Recruitment. To have lots of brands competing in the same sector really motivates you to push yourself that little bit more. It certainly does for me. I’ve been lucky that my manager sets such a good example for me and the whole team. He is an inspiration, both at work and in everyday life!
